Tools and Resources

Support Tools and Knowledge Resources are objects that can stand on their own, but are often related to a particular course. Support tools can include items such as calculators, glossaries, help screens, worksheets, forms and frequently asked questions. Examples of knowledge resources are case studies, articles, research publications, bid reviews and best practices applications. Cognitivity's unique engine allows the different RLOs to be accessed from various places within the platform and associated to allow for maximum flexibility. Tools and resources add depth and expand the scope of a given course. They may be part of the course itself or recommended in the appendix. Likewise, a user might access the stand-alone knowledge resource and then be directed to a course for additional training.

Developing and including these resources is valuable not only to students in your regular training programs, but also to employees needing ad-hoc information for a particular task or project. Building knowledge bases can be critically important to companies for succession planning or for any large company with far-flung employees.
